The name is Charles,
I have been developing software for more years than I care to remember. And I have been reading about AI for almost as long. But that’s the problem. Other than taking an AI course in my last year at uni, and something I did at high school, all I have been doing with AI since then is reading about it.
But I have also been curious about languages over the years. I’m not a guy who can speak ten languages (only 2 plus a bunch of basic phrases in a few others), but I’m interested. Language has always seemed like the most intersting area of AI for me.
So, having read way too many trendy articles in Wired and Gizmodo, I figured it was high time to take the subject from trendy theory to real live code. Yep, I have finally decided to take the red pill. Or was it blue?
This is my story of taking ideas to practice, looking at how this whole machine learning and AI thing can solve a few real world problems along with some pontification about the implications of what all this might mean for us a species.
And who knows. Maybe one day this blog will become MTHL – Machine Talking Human Learning.
